How to Use the Agility Resource to Upgrade Your Return-to-Sport Process
I’m so glad you’ve downloaded the agility resource. My hope is that it brings tremendous value to your practice by giving you a clear, systematic framework for returning athletes to full agility in sport.
Let’s walk through how to get the most out of it.
We created this framework to help you stay organized and confident in your return-to-agility programming. It all starts with the Agility Pyramid – a concept you may have seen used elsewhere, but here, we’ve applied it specifically to agility development.
At the base of the pyramid is movement. Not just general movement – that’s often already addressed – but the agility-specific movements that athletes need to master. These are the patterns that go beyond basic rehab and start to bridge the gap to high-level performance.
Once those movements are in place, we move to foundational change of direction. This is where we dig into the drills and skills required to actually change direction effectively and safely.
And finally, we reach the skill of agility – what most people think of when they picture agility training on the field or in the clinic. This includes more sport-specific and reactive drills that bring everything together.
Alongside the pyramid, we also introduce a four-phase approach to agility. Each phase comes with:
-
Clear goals
-
Sample activities
-
Techniques and drills designed to match the phase’s purpose
The goal is to give you a roadmap – so you always know what you’re working toward and how to get there.
If you want to go deeper, we break all of this down inside Coaches Club, where Nate and I walk through both the big-picture philosophy and the specific exercises, drills, and progressions we use to fully restore agility in athletes.
I hope this resource supports you and elevates your work. And if you’re not already inside Coaches Club, we’d love to have you join us there.
